Bridgerton will be based on the series of novels by Julia Quinn, the best-selling US romance writer, and will feature Dame Julie Andrews in a rare foray into television.

It promises more fun than the standard costume drama, portraying „the sexy, lavish and competitive world” of Regency London „from the glittering ballrooms of Mayfair to the aristocratic palaces of Park Lane and beyond”.
